Miss Murder She Wrote? Sophie Katz is a younger, hipper Angela Lansbury…
LUST, LOATHING AND A LITTLE LIP GLOSS by Kyra Davis June 2009
Synopsis:
Series protagonist Sophie Katz has been offered a great deal on a Victorian home in San Francisco’s coolest neighborhood. The catch? Yeah, it’s haunted. Dead people are spooky, yes, but they’re not nearly so strange as the living, including the seller, who demands Sophie join his Specter Society and contact his deceased parents. The thing is, as a younger, hipper Angela Lansbury, Sophie finds bodies, she doesn’t talk to them. But then a body appears, and she must channel her inner sleuth as much as her inner faux-psychic.
Why you’ll love it:
Kyra Davis is a wonderful talent and can seamlessly weave plot and subplot, humor and emotion, absurdity and reality. Her character ensembles are always entertaining, and her mysteries are often more engaging and mysterious than the more straight-laced mystery writers.
